We recently received a package from Amazon with a sticker saying “OwnBox”. The khaki-colored paper sticking also mentioned “Thank you for joining our effort to protect the environment.” and had an ‘Amazon.in’ logo on it.

This is not a new initiative from the Amazon India team. Several users may have appreciated and complained about this packaging for years. Many brands have opted for this option, where Amazon ships items with their brand’s original packaging, instead of packing them in Amazon-branded cardboard or plastic materials.
This has both positive and negative aspects. Users who wish for some secrecy and want to ensure that the delivery personnel or the parcel handling person at their home or office does not know what they are ordering online would feel angry. On the other hand, people who encourage eco-friendly movement from brands like Amazon would appreciate the work.
This is surely a bold move. What do you think?
