Google held a Game developer summit on 12th July 2021 and announced some interesting new features for end-users and game developers to get the best out of the android platform. The list of features also includes a special feature of ‘play as you download’ in the Android 12 update.

Users will be able to start accessing the game within the seconds they put the game on the download. While the game assets will continue to download in the background.

Android Developer Blog suggested that this will make the game ready to use two times faster for users. On top of that, Android Developers will also get the benefit of the new feature called ‘Play Asset Delivery’, which will ensure that players would spend less time waiting for games to get downloaded without any loss of quality of the game.

With the same release, Android will also offer Play Integrity API to help game developers determine cheating and other abuses in the game.
