Tata Motors announced their new Tata Tiago NRG in the Indian market at the starting price of ₹6.57 lakh. The car uses the same engine as the original Tiago and carries forward the same body construction, features, and mechanical parts. The NRG model comes with the tagline of “The Urban Tougheoader“.
NRG equips side body cladding, some changes at the front & rear, and new 15-inch dual-tone wheels. The car carries an all-black interior. They also claim that the suspensions are returned over the regular Tiago and will offer better drivability on tough roads (read bad here). As the model range is top of the range – it carries features like push-button start, ABS with EBD, and a rear parking camera as standard.
Tata has also made sure that they promote the 4-star (GNCAP) safety ratings in their marketing campaign for the new Tiago NRG. The car equips a 1.2L three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine. That produces the power of 86 ps@6000rpm and torque of 113Nm @3300rpm. The engine is similar to what you get on the regular Tiago, Tigor, and Altroz.
Buyers will get two options for the transmission with the new Tiago NRG. A 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT unit. The Tiago NRG also housed a 7-inch Harman-sourced touchscreen music system, that connects with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
